What is Profhilo®?

Profhilo® is a revolutionary ‘beneath the skin’ hyaluronic acid moisturising treatment.

This results in a unique hyaluronic acid injectable gel, which has a prolonged stimulating activity on the dermal cells. When injected into skin, Profhilo® stimulates the skin cell receptors to counteract skin laxity and improve and restore firmness of the skin.

Unlike wrinkle reducing and dermal filler treatments, Profhilo® stimulates collagen and elastin, attracting water in the deeper layers of the skin.

One of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market, Profhilo® not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue. The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck and can also be used for the décolletage, hands, arms, knees and abdomen area where it would effectively treat skin laxity. The treatment is suitable for men and women as well as offering skin benefits for patients of all ages.

How does Profhilo® work?

Profhilo contains a high concentration of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the skin that plays a crucial role in maintaining hydration and elasticity. What sets Profhilo apart is its hybrid complex, a unique technology that combines both high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid. This innovative formulation allows Profhilo to spread and integrate throughout the skin, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. As a result, Profhilo aims to improve skin hydration, firmness, and overall texture, providing a more youthful and refreshed appearance.

Profhilo® also stimulates four different types of collagen and elastin by slow release of hyaluronic acid. The stimulation results in significant tissue improvement. Therefore we cannot say that Profhilo® is only a skin booster as it also has a significant tightening / lifting effect on the tissue.

How is the treatment administered?

Profhilo treatment involves injecting a unique hyaluronic acid-based product into five strategic points on the face known as the Bio Aesthetic Points (BAP technique). These points include the Suborbicularis Oculi Fat (around the eyes), Temporal (upper face), Infraorbital (lower eye area), Nasolabial (lines from nose to mouth), and Mental-Corner (corner of the mouth). This strategic placement is designed to optimize the diffusion of the product throughout the skin, stimulating collagen and elastin production. The treatment aims to improve overall skin quality, hydration, and elasticity, providing a natural and refreshed appearance. The selected injection points are chosen based on facial anatomy to target specific concerns in each region, offering a comprehensive approach to facial rejuvenation.

Side effects

Profhilo is generally considered safe, but like any medical procedure, it can be associated with certain side effects. Common side effects are typically mild and temporary, including redness, swelling, and bruising at the injection sites. These effects generally subside within a few days.

Profhilo is injected just below the skin's surface over 2 sessions 4 weeks apart. After injection, it disperses quickly beneath the skin to improve hydration, without any need for massage or the risk of leaving lumps or nodules.

Profhilo is absorbed within a 2cm radius of its iniection site, so to treat the face only 10 injection points are needed in total.

A single course of Profhilo involves 2 injectable treatments, after which you can expect to see intense hydration. It makes the skin glow, fine lines can disappear and you'll notice smoother tighter skin. Courses of two treatments can be repeated every six months as needed to maintain the results.
